Nina Cassian, one of the most important figures of the Romanian diaspora in the US, is well-known by a large audience, including the US, as a poet, translator and journalist. Very few people know that the life-long passion of the famous writer was music. She dedicated to it with a lot of competence. Nina Cassian studied piano and composition with Mihail Jora and Constantin Silvestri and she

started composing from 5 years old. Over the years she wrote many musical pieces, especially chamber music.
In order to complete the complex portrait of Nina Cassian, ICR New York presented on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, in American premiere, some of her best piano works played by Sînziana Mircea, one of the most appreciated young Romanian pianist of the moment.
