NexT 2016 – „Resonating Walks” and masterclass with Selim Azzazi

This year, NexT (7-11 April) will host two masterclasses, one conducted by Maria Balabaș (journalist and musician), and the other one by Selim Azzazi (sound editor and designer).
The „Plimbări sonore” („Resonating Walks”) sound design workshop, run by Maria Balabaș, will take place between 7 and 9 April, being open to university or high-school students aged 17 to 25. The attendants' selection will be made based on a short motivation letter accompanied by a 2-minute collage, which should include sounds recorded on the street, spoken text and music. During a walk through Bucharest, the participants will be given the opportunity to learn the ways the sounds contribute to the overall construction of a film how to create sound image, how to design sound for a feature film, how to use sound intent in a documentary film and how musical illustration is integrated.
Sound editor and sound designer Selim Azzazi will run the „Sound as a Storytelling Tool” workshop on April 11th, since 11.00 pm, at Elvire Popesco Cinema. Attendance to the masterclass is open, based on registration, to all cinematography professionals and students: sound engineers, editors or directors.
Registering to both workshops may be made at the following address: iguest@nextproject.ro, the deadline being March 27th.
