Monika Werkstatt, at DokStation 2

Four artists of the Berlin electro stage are coming to DokStation Music Documentary Film Festival (14 – 17 September 2017, Bucharest).
Monika Werkstatt is a group of musicians, under Monika Enterprise brand, initiated by Gudrun Gut. Together, they released a double album named Monika Werkstatt and they are on the road with this material, in a show that blends their individual and collective works, accompanied by improvisations. The shows are also preceded or followed by debates on the work and role of women in electronic music. The band Monika Werkstatt is made up of Gudrun Gut, founding member, Einstürzende Neubauten și Malaria!, Matador and Madame Bovary, Danielle de Picciotto, member of the band Crime & The City Solution and of The Ocean Club, co-founder of Love Parade Berlin, Beate Bartel, founding member of EinstürzendeNeubauten and of Liaisons Dangereuses, and Islaja, a young and talented musician from Finland established in Berlin. The four musicians will be present in Bucharest, at DokStation, for an individual and collective performance, on Saturday, 16 September, in Club Control.
DokStation will also host the premiere of the film The Rolling Stones Olé Olé Olé!: A Trip Across Latin America (2016), a documentary following the tour of The Rolling Stones from the beginning of 2016, through ten Latin-American cities, while the band is trying to have an open-air concert in Havana, Cuba. The film will be screened on Friday, 15 September, starting at 20.00, in Drumul Taberei Park, being preceded by a concert by Moonlight Breakfast.
The second edition of DokStation, apart from the special attention paid to the British musician David Bowie, will also have a Focus on Japan. The Japanese trilogy includes documentaries such as Far Western (2016), about a group of Japanese musicians following their passions for American music country and blues music styles, in a journey from Tokyo to Nashville, We Don't Care About Music Anyway (2009), a look into the avant-garde Tokyo music, known internationally by its boldness, and Mad Tiger (2015), a story about the best friends of the punk-rock Peelander-Z band who reach an impasse when one of them decides to leave the band.
