The sixth edition of BIEFF, the Bucharest Experimental Film Festival, ended on Suday, March 20th, at the Romanian Farmers' Museum Cinema, after 7 festival days, 65 films and 4 special events.

The winning films were decided upon by a jury made up of professionals such as: Paolo Bertolin, Ulrich Ziemons, Ludovic Chavarot and Xandra Popescu.
The Great BIEFF 2016 Award, offered by the Romanian Cultural Institute (amounting to EURO 3,000), was bestowed upon director Scott Cummings, for the feature
Buffalo Juggalos, screened into the Urban Rituals competition section.
The Best Romanian Director Award, offered by the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN) (amounting to EURO 1,000), was granted to Mihai Grecu, for
Reflecția puterii (Reflection of Power).
The Best Directing Award, offered by Cinelab Romania (amounting to EURO 1,500), was granted to director Zia Anger
, for
I Remember Nothing.
The Best Photography Concept Award, offered by Cinelab Romania (amounting to EURO 1,500), was granted to Randa Maroufi, for
The Park.
The Special Mention of the BIEFF 2016 Jury went to director Gabriel Abrantes, for
Freud and Friends.
