The team of the Full Moon Horror&Fantastic Film Festival will come to TIFF and on Sunday evening (May 27, 2018) invites you to the Bonțida Bánffy Castle to attend the premiere of the feature film
Tokyo Vampire Hotel, directed by the Japanese director Sion Sono. The film was partially shot in Cluj. Right after the screening a super horror party will take place, in the fabulous setting of the castle, organized by Vinyl, Rum, Tapas & Wine.
One of the first events confirmed for the 7th edition of the Horror&Fantastic Film festival (August, 9-12, 2018, Biertan, Sibiu county) is the screening of
The Student of Prague (1913, directed by Paul Wegener, Stellan Rye), the first independent film in history. The screening will be accompanied live with original music signed by CelloFun, an electro-acoustic formula especially created for the silent films, which was born out of the common vision on the freedom of expression and out of the passion for experimental cinema of the three members of the group: Attila J. Szabó, Alexandra Andrieş and Radu Rădescu. The screening will also be attended by Irina Margareta Nistor.
The Student of Prague, the first German art film, tells the story of a young student hopelessly in love with a beautiful countess, who makes a deal with a sorcerer and he loses his reflection from the mirror. Applauded by the critics and by the viewers at that time, the production remained in history as the first film that established the expressionism in the German cinema which seven years later gave birth to the famous
The Cabinet of Dr.Caligari.
So far, over 1,400 titles (short films and feature films: fiction, animated, experimental) entered this year`s edition of the festival. The artistic director Cătălin Mesaru is currently selecting the films, but the registration period is not over yet.
