KineDok 2016, organised by One World Romania, carries on in June over 40 screenings in alternative locations.
This month, the director of the documetary
Mothers and Daughters, Ivana Hucikova, will come to Romania to talk with KineDok audience. She will be present on 7 June at Hecate, in Bucharest, on 8 June at The Music, in Brăila, and on 9 June at the Visual Arts Museum in Galați.
Ivana Hucikova has recently graduated the Performing Arts Academy in Bratislava, majoring in documentary directing. For her graduation short, she chose to make an intimate portrait of a family made of women – 4 generations of mothers and daughters, who share not only a home, but also similar life experiences. The films she made during her student years approach more often than not topics with which she is familiar with, such as the hopes and dreams of young filmmakers versus the harsh reality of TV and film industry, or unemployment within Slovak youth and their need to look for work outside the country.
