Ioan Boieriu, part of the “Jungle Book” crew, wins the Oscar for Best Visual Effects

     Disney's animated film, Jungle Book, took home on 26 February 2017, the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.

     The crew that created the special effects for Jungle Book also included Ioan Boieriu, who sat down with us for an interview in 2015. Boieriu is one of the Romanians specialising in visual effects, his work including films such as: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Hercules or Exodus: Gods and Kings.
     Apart from Jungle Book, the following films were also nominated for the Oscar for Best Visual Effects: Deepwater Horizon, Doctor Strange, Kubo and the Two Strings and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
