Interview of the week with Viorica Petrovici

Being creative, meticulous, passionate about her work, Viorica Petrovici creates 300 costumes for an Opera performance or 60 for Radu Mihăileanu`s latest film, History of  Love. After a challenging project, she finds rest in working for a theatre show ora  dance performance. Or she paints. After the shootings are over, she gives the sketches or the costumes to the members of the crew.
She received a César nomination for the costumes from RaduMihăileanu`s film,The Source. Radu is the filmmaker that she works with for almost all of his projects, together with Cristian Niculescu, the production designer. “On set we have a certain kind of a friendship, outside of it we have a different one” – this is how she talks about her relationship with Mihăileanu, which started in 1992 with Trahir.
She is married to the production designer Cristian Niculescu; they have two sons who are architects. They have recently become grandparents.
