Interview of the week With Teodor Corban

All the credit goes to Corneliu Porumboiu for discovering Teodor Corban on the stage of the National Theatre in Iașiwhere, starting in 1989, he has played and still plays important parts from the Romanian dramaturgy (CoanaChiriţa, Nae Girimea, Farfuridi), as well as from the universal dramatic art (Tartuffe, Lopahin, Biedermann). Thus we discovered him too, first in the role of the mayor in the short Journey to the City, then playing Jderescu, the owner of a TV station broadcasting from a flat in a provincial town, in the feature film12:08 East of Bucharest. Over the last ten years, his filmography has been constantly enriched, mainly with supporting roles.
2015 seems to be, for Teodor Corban's cinema career, the year of new beginnings, thanks to his two exceptional leading roles: the policeman in Aferim! by Radu Jude, andSanduPătraşcuin One Floor Below by Radu Muntean. And there's more to come. Like his part in the new feature film by Nae Caranfil, which is now in full production.
