Interview of the week With Dinu Tănase

Dinu Tănase started his cameraman career alongside his colleague from the Theatre and Film Academy, the director Radu Gabrea (also at the debut of his career at the time) signing the image design for the film Prea mic pentru un război atât de mare (Too Small For Such A Big War) (1969), this teamwork being doubled by a friendship that lasted over the years, so we find them still together on the credit titles of the feature Călătoria lui Gruber (Gruber's Journey). Over this arc in time, a lot of things have happened. He continued his career as director of photography. He also made his debut as a director, making 13 featuresup to now, among which there is a landmark in the history of Romanian cinema - La capătul liniei (At The End of The Line) (1982). He became the father of three children, all of them boys – Mihai, Ion and Nicolae Constantin – who all followed in his footsteps and became filmmakers. It is, certainly, an enviable itinerary, about which Dinu has many things to say.
