Having reached its 5th edition, the
Ceau, Cinema! Festival in Timişoara launches its Call for Entries for the international competition dedicated to the European feature films, documentaries or animations.
The films that are targeted should be made in 2017 or 2018 and they should come from the countries that have traditional minorities in the Banat region.
Ionuţ Mareş is the programmer of the competition.
The
Ceau, Cinema! competition offer a platform to express themselves to the filmmakers from the countries with traditional minorities in the Banat region: Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Israel, Italy, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary.
As for the co-productions, only the films with the majority co-producer coming from one of the above countries are accepted.
Traditionally, the competition section intends to reflect the diversity of the European author cinema, by a selection of original and daring films.
The Trophy of the
Ceau, Cinema! competition decided by a jury made of three personalities from the film industry, is of 1,500 Euros and it wll be given to the director of the winning film. Another film from the Competition section will receive the Audience Award (500 Euros).
The same as the previous editions, a Vitas România Trophy (of 1,000 Euros) will also be awarded, for an independent film or a beginner`s film (the first or the second film of a director). The films from all the festival sections are eligible for this award, which will be decided by the
Ceau, Cinema! team and Vitas România.
The producers or distributors must fill in a form available on ceaucinema.ro, and they should send a screener link and a synopsis to the address
festival@ceaucinema.ro.
The deadline is May 1, 2018.
The fifth edition of the
Ceau, Cinema! Festival will take place in July 19-22, 2018, in Timișoara and Gottlob (the first village in Romania with a renovated cinema) and it will offer screenings, debates, meetings with professionals of the film industry and workshops.
