“In our hearts, we were giants” – book launch at Eforie Cinematheque on May 26th

Joi, 26 May, from 16:30, at the Romanian Cinematheque (Eforie – Jean Georgescu Hall), the launch of the book “In our hearts, we were giants” by Yehuda Koren and Eilat Negev (Grinta Publishing House, Cluj, 2015) will be held, together with the screening of the film Warwick Davis: the Seven Dwarves of Auschwitz (directed by Warwick Davis).
“Liliput” Troupe became known in the’30 for their variety shows, being made up of the seven Ovitz siblings (five boys and two girls), all of them little people. In 1944, the Ovitz family was deported to Auschwitz and subject to the experiments carried out by doctor Josef Mengele. The book “In our hearts, we were giants” tells the story of this family.
The event is organised by the Foundation Tarbut Sighet – Jewish Culture and Education, and the guests in attendance will be: Vasile Mârza (Mayor of Rozalvea Commune), Peninah Zilberman (Chairwoman of “Tarbut” Foundation), and authors Yehuda Koren and Eilat Negev.
