The latest feature by director Călin Peter Netzer, Ana, mon amour, was selected in the official competition of the Festival. The film is a free adaptation of the novel by writer Cezar Paul-Bădescu, Luminița, mon amour, “an irony addressed to the world we live in and to the way it sees nervous diseases and tries to offer solutions, most of them ridiculous”, as Cezar-Paul Bădescu, author of the volume and co-writer of the film stated. Iulia Lumânare (co-screenwriter) mentioned that “we did not intend to make a film about psychoanalysis, but a psychoanalytical one”. Director of photography Andrei Butică told us about his joy in working for this production, and the actors having the leading roles, Mircea Postelnicu and Diana Cavallioti, talked about the way they built their characters and the way they needed an introspection period and having to go to a professional psychoanalyst. Actor Adrian Titieni, who played in the film the role of the shrinks, sees this production as “a mirror of each and every one of us and, in the same time, as a starting point toward knowing our own identity”.
