Grigore Gonța received the honorary degree Doctor Honoris Causa from UNATC

     Grigore Gonța was awarded on Monday night, on 19 June, the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Senate of the “I. L. Caragiale” National University of Theatre and Cinema of Bucharest.

     Actor, theatre director and professor, Grigore Gonța graduated the Theatre Art and Cinema Institute in 1963, class of professors Ion Sahighian and David Esrig. His talent was remarked ever since the graduation performance “The Venetian Twins”, where he played the triple role of Zanetto, then he made his debut at “Mihai Eminescu” Theatre of Botoșani. Shortly, he returned to Bucharest, first to the Nottara Theatre and to the Comedy Theatre, then he worked as director and deputy manager at the National Theatre. During the same period, he was invited to join the faculty of the Theatre and Cinema Institute as Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Theatre.
