Apart from Lithuania, Transilvania International Film Festival (27 May – 5 June) is dedicating special programmes to other two invited countries: Lebanon and Croatia.
Focus Lebanon is organised in partnership with Fondation Liban Cinema, with the support of the Embassy of the Lebanon Republic in Romania and of Sensiblu
, and includes nine films, carefully selected by a good and fine connoisseur of Oriental cinema, reviewer Jay Weissberg (
Variety). From Egypt, Lebanese director Assad Fouladkar arrives at TIFF, with
Halal Love (and Sex), a social satire selected at Sundance, in which the characters are trying to reconcile personal life with the restrictions imposed by Islam laws. Lebanese director Mir-Jean Bou Chaaya
, invited to TIFF as well, will bring his debut feature
