The 53rd edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will take place from June 29 to July 7, 2018. Two Romanian productions were selected to be part of the festival:
I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians / Îmi este indiferent dacă în istorie vom intra ca barbari, directed by
Radu Jude (world premiere in the official competition) and
Touch Me Not / Nu
mă atinge-mă, directed by
Adinei Pintilie (Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival).
The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival annually presents around 150 films from all over the world. With the exception of the retrospectives, all the films are premieres in the Czech Republic; some of them have their European, international or world premiere here.
The Romanian Film Institute in Prague supports the participation of the actress Ilinca Manolache and of the film editor
Cătălin Cristuţiu (
I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians), as well as of the producer Bianca Oana and of the actors Laura Benson and Tomas Lemarquis (
Touch Me Not).
