The 2018 European Film Festival


     Having reached its 22nd edition, the European film festival returns in 2018 in a record number of cities: Bucharest (May, 7 – 13), Galați (May, 11 – 13), Tîrgu Mureș (May,18 – 20), Râmnicu Vâlcea (May, 18 – 20), Timișoara (May, 24 – 27), Alba Iulia (May, 25 – 27), Iași (June, 1 – 3) and Sibiu (June, 1 – 3). This year, in absolute premiere, EFF arrives in three more cities: Alba Iulia, Galați and Râmnicu Vâlcea.
     The festival will start with a dramatic comedy, See You Up There / Au revoir là-haut (France, 2017, directed by Albert Dupontel). Its action is placed one hundred years ago, in France. Based on the homonymous novel written by Pierre Lemaître, winner of the Goncourt award in 2013, the film received more César awards, among which Best Director and Best Cinematography (Vincent Mathias).
     The Gala Screening is scheduled for the evening of Monday, May 7, 2018, at the National Theatre in Bucharest; the complete schedule of the present edition will be announced at the press conference (May 4, 2018)
     The European Film Festival is organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute with the support of the European Commission Representation of the European Parliament and EUNIC Romania, in partnership with the embassies, centers and European cultural institutes.
