The Venice Film Festival will go ahead as planned and it will take place from September 2 to 12, as Luca Zaia, the Governor of the Veneto region announced.
He declared on Sunday that the Biennale of Architecture to 2021 was postponed due to complications in constructing the necessary pavilions. The film festival will proceed, though there will likely be fewer films this year.
The organizers – who were expected to take a decision in late May – are now confident that the festival is able to go ahead as planned, although the event will look
different this year, as public health safeguards must be taken into consideration. The organizers have not yet commented on plans for September.
