The Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale) made an announcement about being forced to rethink the 2021 edition in a hybrid form. So, from March 1 to 5, the official selection of the festival and the European Film Market will be presented online to the film
industry and the winners will also be decided then. Later on, in June, the large audience will be able to attend an off-line edition of the prestigious Berlin festival.
The decision comes due to the alarming infecting rate and death numbers which hit Europe in the so-called second wave.
