Is There a Thursday / Există joi? will be screened to pay tribute to the late director
Adrian Petringenaru, on Friday, March 6, at 14:00, at the Eforie Cinematheque.
“A love that blooms in a fragile way, between two train races that cross their ways, lilke a camomile flower near the gutter of a highway. A surreal space near the road, one step away and which it seems born out of the very desire of love, of silence and of serenity that a man and a woman – who are both under the siege of a crisis – feel deep inside of them. The day when they meet is every Thursday of each week, a day of hope and – why not – a day of knowledge…of knowing the other one, which in spirit of true love is also self-knowledge.
This film, which unfortunately has a testament value due to the director`s death, is a manifesto for trust, the trust of a man in himself and in the one near him, the trust in the ability to overcome the adverse situation, and to follow your truth, both in profession and in feelings. After all, it`s a lyrical film, which brings to light a ray of that brilliant of wisdom, which always hides beneath the surface of the mundane thing, which thus becomes symbolic.” Miruna Runcan writes.
The event is organized by the Romanian Filmmakers Union.
