Emir Baigazin made his striking debut with the feature film
Harmony Lessons, which premiered in the Official

Competition of the 2013 Berlin Film Festival, where it received the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic contribution. for the cinematography signed by Aziz Zhambakiyev. The award was given by a jury led by the director Wong Kar-wai, the same year when the Golden Bear was received by
Călin Peter Netzer`s
Child`s Pose / Poziția copilului. That very year, Harmony Lessons was included in the Competition of ANONIMUL 10 by the programmer Ludmila Cvikova and was chosen the 2nd favorite film chosen by vote by the viewers.
Emir Baigazin returned to Berlin in 2016 (in the Panorama section) with his second feature film
The Wounded Angel (written, directed and edited by him). From the very beginning, the director spoke about the three films,
Harmony Lessons,
The Wounded Angel and
The River, as being part of a trilogy about teenagers and about their complex relationship with the world. Emir Baigazin considers the teenage years as the most critical period in a person`s life, when something may get torn in his/her mind and he or she may become lost for good. What I am interested in is to see if I can discover that thin line that gets so tight that it`s about to break.”
While working for
The River, Emir Baigazin worked as a director and producer for the film
Would You Like to Stargaze?, which will have its world premiere at the ANONIMUL 15. The film will be screened on the final evening of the festival and it will be introduced by Emir Baigazin himself and by Aidana Kozhageldina, the production and costume designer of the film.
Emir Baigazin will receive the ANONIMUL Festival Trophy for his contribution to the beauty of the world cinema.
Would You Like to Stargaze?,
The Wounded Angel și
Harmony Lessons are the three films which will be presented to the festival audience and they will be followed by Q&A sessions. Emir Baigazin will also hold a masterclass on Saturday, August 11.
