“Călărași – A Land by the Gate of Heaven”, directed by Dumitru Grosei, wins an award in Japan


     The documentary Călărași – A Land by the Gate of Heaven / Un ținut la Poarta Raiului, directed by Dumitru Grosei, produced by Symbol Media and Alternative Cinema won the Outstanding Award during the Meihodo International Youth Visual Media Festival  2020. The event will take place in Fukuoka (Japan), from December 23 to 30, 2020.
     The Meihodo International Youth Visual Media Festival is an independent event sponsored by Meihodo, a Japanese corporation which intends to support the visual artists all over the world.
     Founded in 2018, the annual festival was created by Meihodo Inc. and the Beijing Film Academy, as a great event for selecting and presenting the best works of the young artists. The event is made of three parts: the thematic works exhibition, the discussions forum and the evaluation and awards ceremony.
     During the same festival two more films directed by the director Dumitru Grosei: Cadoul și Ecouri. The director has two recent selections for the New Generation Film Festival in Belgrade, Serbia, with the experimental fiction short films Ecouri and Dante Café. Throughout 2020 he already gathered 50 selections and 4 awards.
