Romanian documentaries at SFR 2016, Iași


     This year, Serile Filmului Românesc (Romanian Film Evenings) (4-8 May) scheduled a series of recent Romanian documentary features, with the goal to make them more accessible to Iași viewers.
     Thus, the documentary features to be screened in Iași are as follows: Pașaport de Germania (German Passport) (directed by Răzvan Georgescu), Aliyah DaDa (directed by Oana Giurgiu), Muzeon-Ștefan Râmniceanu (directed by Laurențiu Damian), Viața între două filme (Life between two Movies) (directed by Dragoș Zămosteanu), Război pe calea undelor (Wavelength War) (directed by Alexandru Solomon), Lumea văzută de Ion B. (World Seen by Ion B.) (directed by Alexander Nanău), Evrei de vânzare (Jews for Sale) (directed by Radu Gabrea), Kapitalism - rețeta noastră secretă (Kapitalism – Our Secret Network) (directed by Alexandru Solomon), Horea Paștina - Starea lucrurilor (Horea Praștină – State of Fact) (directed by Laurențiu Damian), Balta Albă (directed by Silviu Munteanu).
     Admission to documentary screenings will be free of charge within the limit of available seats at the announced locations.
     The screenings will be followed by talks with the documentary filmmakers and with the Festival's guests, among them being: Răzvan Georgescu (director), Oana Giurgiu (director, producer), Laurenţiu Damian (director and chairman of UCIN Romania), Radu Gabrea (director, screenwriter), Liviu Tofan (journalist), Silviu Munteanu (journalist, director) and Dragoş Zămosteanu (director).
     This year's edition of SFR will also present a retrospective Mircea Diaconu, and also the most recent Romanian fiction films.
