Unique Concerts at Alter-Native 27


     This year`s edition of the Alter-Native International Short Film Festival , which will take place from November 6 to 10, 2019, at the Culture Palace in Tîrgu-Mureș, prepared many concerts besides the short films and the feature films in the program.
     The series of concerts will start on Tuesday, November 5, with the production of the CentriFuga Contemporary Music Workshop, which has as its purpose the supporting of the contemporary musical life in Hungary, as well as putting together composers and singers both from the new generation and the established one. The concert will take place in the Small Hall of the Culture palace, from 19:00
     On Wednesday, an old friend of the festival, Földes László Hobo, comes with his concert, “Hobo`s Woodstock”, on the stage of the Culture Palace, starting with 19:00. On Thursday night, he returns to the same stage with the performance “I was born in the storm”. Both concerts will be in premiere in Transilvania.
     On Friday, the audience will have the chance to attend a special concert held by the singer Harcsa Veronika, accompanied by the Russian-born harp player Anastasia Razvaliaeva. The two musicians will play lieds composed by Claude Debussy, on poetry written by Paul Verlaine and other poets, in a daring, innovative orchestration, worthy of their composer.
     Also on Friday, from 20:45, there is another film concert scheduled, called “CSOMA – Opera Cinematique”. The performance pays tribute to Kőrösi Csoma Sándor (Alexander Csoma de Kőrös), who exactly on this very day, November 23, 1819, set out on a journey to find out the origins of the Magyar people.
     On Saturday, the Alter-Native concerts move to the Jazz&Blues Club and the Beer House. The Midnight Buzz band (Angelina Rudneva – voice, Costi Popescu – drums, Tudor Asciu – bass, Lucian Brăgar – keyboards) will play in the first location, starting with 19:00. Founded in 2017 in Braşov, the Midnight Buzz is into new jazz, fusion and groove. Balázs Elemér Group will be on the stage of the Beer House, from 20:00. This is one of the most popular nads in Hungary, which was founded by Balázs Elemér, the nationally and internationally acclaimed jazz drummer. On Wednesday evening, the festival audience will be able to enjoy a reading performance, called “Agamemnon`s dog”, directed by Szabó Róbert Csaba.
     On Sunday night, the Small Synagogue (Brăila street, no. 10) will host the theatre-dance performance “Farida”, directed and choreographed by Macaveiu Blanka.
     The festival partners are: Mureş County Council, Târgu Mureş Arts University, Balassi Institute – Cultural Center of the Republic of Hungary (Bucharest), Mediwave Foundation, Jazz&Blues Club. Financers: Administration of the National Cultural Fund (AFCN), Romania`s Government – Department for Interethnical Relations, Tîrgu Mureş City Council, National Cultural Fund and the Bethlen Gábor Fund (Hungary), Communitas Foundation.
