Cinepub proposes CELA – Creating Emerging Literary Artists

Cinepub announces its participation as founding-member to the European project CELA (Creating Emerging Literary Artists), a 2-year programme for European writers and translators.
CELA, supported by the Creative Europe Programme of UE, is to start in December 2017, being a consortium bringing together seven partners of six countries: Booktailors (Portugal), Cinepub (Romania), Escuela de Escritores (Madrid/Spain), Huis de Buren and Passa Porta (Belgium), Pisa Book Festival (Italy) and Wintertuin (Holland).
CELA's target is to select 18 emerging writers and 24 de translators, and to train them intensively through workshops held in various countries and specialisations, in order to facilitate their affirmation in European context, by providing them with the professional skills necessary in a professional international environment, usually closed to new-comers, regardless of their age. CELA is a hub for networking, professionalization and lobby designed for authors and translators who wish to go beyond the borders of their native country, an opportunity for affirmation for the new generations of writing professionals and a chance for them to be translated into six European languages and presented at various interdisciplinary international festivals.
From 5 July to 15 August 2017, Cinepub is organising the national CELA selection. Cinepub is looking for three Romanian prose writers, published locally (in own volume, or at least a text published in a collective volume), and for five translators from Romanian into one of the CELA authors' languages: Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese – the latter having to prove a good knowledge of the respective language and of having professionally translated several texts into the respective languages. The selected writers will have the opportunity to take part, at their own choice, to one of the five workshops of the project, with a duration of two weeks: Pedagogy of creative writing in Madrid – Escuela de Escritores  - for the authors who want to learn teaching creating writing; On visibility – in Pisa – within Pisa Book Fair – for those who want to decipher the secrets of the „personal sale” at specialised festivals and networking; Transmedia Storytelling – in Holland, at Wintertuin, for those who want to experiment new writing techniques and new transformational models of fiction texts; Book Marketing in Portugal with BookTailors; Adaptation techniques of short prose into a fiction short script, at Cinepub, in Bucharest.
Romanian candidates must submit their admission files to cela@cinepub.ro, the deadline being 15.08.2017. More details about the programme or the documents that must be submitted by applicants are available at Cinepub.ro.
