The Docuart Cinematheque – “My Father, Imre”, by Andreea Știliuc
My Father, Imre / Tatăl meu, Imre is directed by Andreea Ştiliuc, as a dissertation project during the Documentary Filmmaking Masters Program at the “Babeș-Bolyai” University in Cluj-Napoca. The documentary tells the story of Imre Kinszki, an exceptional photographer, compared to cu Brassaï, Kertész or Moholy-Nagy. Nevertheless, his photos are still unknown to the audience.
The story of the film is told by Imre`s daughter, but also with the help of a narrator and apparently, the first recipient of the message sent by Judith. It is about Edward Serotta, the founder of Centropa. My Father, Imre / Tatăl meu, Imre had the premiere at the Astra Film Festival 2018, when the AaRC team made an interview with the director Andreea Știliuc.
