By the end of last week, the Romanian Film Centennial Caravan reached other three destinations in Romania: Brașov, Sinaia and Râșnov. The screening program included two great films which celebrate their 50th anniversary and also a comedy. In the opening of each of them the AGREPRESS documentary,
The Great Union – Romania at 100 Years was screened.
Ileana Popovici, Irina-Margareta Nistor and the director of the Brașov County History Museum, Nicolae Pepene, were the guests who spoke about the film
The Column / Columna, during a special screening event celebrating the film`s 50th anniversary since the premiere. The screening was included in the program of the 10th edition of the Râșnov Histories and Film Festival.
“During the making of
The Column, I was very busy shooting for
Reconstruction/ Reconstituirea. We owe everything to the director
Lucian Pintilie who opened another world for us, a better world, of the cinema, in which we stepped in with the right foot. (…) These historic films which from the point of the contemporary historians have many flaws or untrue things are still historic films and the story itself, is very important for a certain audience. I believe that choosing these films is a very good thing, especially because it is so difficult to make this kind of films.”
On July 21, the comedy
Tales from the Golden Age / Amintiri din epoca de aur 1, directed by
Cristian Mungiu was screened at the “Carmen Sylva” Cultural Centre in Sinaia. The actress Ileana Popovici spoke about Cristian Mungiu`s comedy film.
During the Râșnov Histories and Film Festival, the evening of July 25, was dedicated to celebrating the 50th anniversary since the release of the film
Reconstruction. The film was screened at the Râșnov “Amza Pellea” Cinema, that was packed full for the event, which was even more special due to the presence of the three guests, the actors Ileana Popovici,
Vladimir Găitan and
George Mihăiță.
The three actors remembered how the shootings were like and they spoke of the moment when they were chosen to be in the film. Vladimir Găitan mentioned the fact that the three of them were at the beginning of their careers and that shooting for
Reconstruction meant the beginning of their acting careers.
