What do we see at the cinema in 2021

Independența Film, one of the oldest independent film distribution company in Romania, announces some of the titles that it intends to release on the big screens next year.
Two of them are The Human Voice, Almodóvar`s short film starring Tilda Swinton and Three Floors, Nanni Moretti`s latest film, which will be released in 2021.
The Human Voice, the short film directed by the famous Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar was shot and edited in a very short period of time, after the end of the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus crisis. The film was screened at the Venice Film festival. The British actress Tilda Swinton is the protagonist of this short film, Almodóvar`s first English production, based on the homonymous play written by the French poet and playwright Jean Cocteau.
Another title on the distributor list is Undine, the German director Christian Petzold`s latest film, a modern romantic fairy tale with supernatural elements, which stars Paula Beer, who received the Best Actress award at Berlinale 2020 for this part.
Undine is nominated for the European Film Academy Awards; the winners will be announced next week.
“At the end of a year with many postponed or canceled premieres, we look forward for the year 2021, when we hope to be able to release some of the postponed titles and new films which were released only in their country of origin or in different festivals. For the first part of the year we prepare two Italian productions. One of them is Gli anni più belli directed by Gabriele Muccino, a beautiful story about love and friendship, which spans over 40 tears, that stars Pierfrancesco Favino. Another film is Nowhere Special, directed by Uberto Pasolini, a touching social drama in English, which premiered at Venice 2020.
Another title is Persian Lessons, directed by the Ukrainian director Vadim Perelman, an absurd tragi-comedy about the Holocaust. Other titles are: Tre piani, directed by Nanni Moretti, which is expected to premiere this year at one important film festival and Mandibules, the French-Belgian director Quentin Dupieux, which premiered at Venice this year” Antoine Bagnaninchi, the director of the Independența Film distribution company.
Waiting for the re-opening of the cinemas, more than 40 titles of the distribution company portfolio can be watched on the Vimeo video on demand platform of Independența Film.
