“Dimitrie Cantemir” Romanian Cultural Institute of Istanbul, together with the Romanian Orthodox Community of Turkey are inaugurating on 15 August, 2016, starting at 13.00, at the Romanian Orthodox Church in Istanbul, the photography exhibition Romanian Churches and Monasteries, authored by Claudiu Petringenaru.

The pictures taken show fortified churches from Transylvanian villages, wooden churches from Northern Romania, architectural elements specific to Christian worship places, inner and outer paintings, particularities, styles and symbols, a rich and diverse patrimony, part of it being included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The exhibition will be open until 29 August, and from 30 August and until 11 September, it will be moved to Musurus Pașa Mansion, ICR Istanbul headquarters.
Claudiu Petringenaru graduated I.L. Caragiale National Theatre and Film University of Bucharest, film and television department, and worked for many years with “Al. Sahia” film studio. Currently, he is director of photography with the Romanian Television Production Department. From 1995, he has filmed thousands of live news reports and TV documentaries. Last year he was selected to work at “Realizarea Transylmania”, a Hill and Brand Hollywood production – ICR Istanbul informs.
