The program of the Romanian Cinematheque of the Romanian Cultural Institute in London continues on Thursday, April 26, with the UK premiere of the film
The Anniversary / Aniversarea, directed by
Dan Chişu,
This is the director`s seventh feature film and it had its international premiere in 2017, during the Warsaw International Film Festival. The film has an impressive cast:
Mircea Albulescu, playing his last part,
Simona Bondoc,
Emilia Dobrin and
Răzvan Vasilescu.
The film tells the story of Radu Maligan who celebrates its 94th anniversary together with family and former work colleagues. The situation becomes tense when half of the guests try to convince the old man to confess to a priest; while the rest of them consider that you cannot force someone do something against his will.
The Romanian Cinematheque is one of the permanent programmes of the ICR London which is meant to promote the Romanian films of all time.
