On Friday, August 21 2020, the 12.2 edition of the Histories and Film Festival will start in Râșnov (August 21-30, 2020). The final program includes 29 films, 8 concerts, 16 debates, the Summer School and over 50 special guests with whom the
viewers will have the chance to talk.
It will be a cultural cocktail à la FFIR, with free access, but with limited seats for safety reasons (maximum 250 people) in the city of Râșnov. During the 10 festival
days, the viewers are expected to “eat” culture in a responsible way.
During the day, the viewers will be able to enjoy debates which will be live on the festival Facebook page and on the YouTube channel. The past will be analysed by
means of debates – about Trianon, the August 23, 1944 moment, between reality and mystification or the Germans in Romania after the Second World War, also
keeping the focus on the future, in an attempt to anticipate what will come next…Re- evaluations and reflections about the future of Europe, the freedom of the press in times of crisis, What and how do the winners learn?, etc.)
The evening concerts continue as well, with guests such as
Ada Milea, Mircea Baniciu, Adrian Despot and om la lună. The nights will be spent under the starts, in
the cool mountain air, with screenings of carefully chosen films (some of them are Romanian premieres): Jojo Rabbit, La promesse de l`aube, At Eternity`s Gate,
Official Secrets, etc. The documentaries will also be present – in competition or in the special section. They can be watched online.

The main theme this year is War and Peace and the event was prepared and planned so that it might take place in two parts: July 17-26 and August 21-30, 2020.
