For the anniversary of 16 years that passed since the events of December 1989, the owner of a small TV station that airs from an apartment in a small province town scheduled a live talk-show with the topic “was it or wasn’t it Revolution in our town?”. The guests on his show are a high school teacher who loves hitting the bottle and a retired man who is often asked to play Santa Claus.

“We also played a part in the Revolution, the best way we could!” The foreign audiences received the film as a comedy, while we bit our lips not to cry. Please don`t misunderstand that the foreign people`s verdict is stupid – as a comedy, 12:08 East of Bucharest is a small piece of jewelry, while as a bitter satire, it easily and firmly claims the status of a masterpiece.” (Andrei Creţulescu)
