Graduate of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies - the Faculty of Foreign Trade, in 1972. He received his PhD in economy at the same university in 1997 with a thesis on the economy of the film. From 1972 to 1979 he was a scientific researcher at the Bucharest Institute of World Economy. In 1990 he takes part in the founding of the Romanian National Film Center.
Between 1992 and 1999 he is the general manager of the Buftea Film Studios. In 2000 he was the general secretary of the National Film Center and from 2003 he worked as an independent delegate producer. He also had an academic activity – a university lecturer for the management of film and TV production, the dean of the Film Faculty within the Bucharest Media University (2007-2011), an associate professor at the Bucharest National University of Theatre and Film and at the Bucharest Hyperion University, a member of the Film Producers Association within the Romanian Filmmakers Union and a member of the Filmmakers Union Board of Directors.
