Florin Mihăilescu

  • Born: 15.07.1943 in Bucharest
Graduate of the Technical School of Cinematography. He works as a technician at the Cinematographic Technical Research Service of the “Bucharest” Film Production Center(1963-1967). Graduate of the “I. L. Caragiale” Theatre and Film Institute, (class of 1972, professors George Cornea, Aurel Kostrakiewicz, Mircea Gherghinescu). He is an academic at the National University for  Theater and Film “I L Caragiale”.
Author of two inventions: a device for the making of enchaine (dissolve) on the Mitchell- Mark III  camera- 1985 and a device for the controlled supplementary illumination of the photogram surfaces in underexposure(1987). Recipient of scholarships:  in France - Film Production 1977, then documentation in the field of university  education in cinema 1993,  in the USA (Film production, 1985), and in the United Kingdom (university management), 1997. PHD thesis titled” Image and Symbol in Lucian Pintilie’s Work - De ce trag clopotele, Mitică? / Carnival Scenes”, 2002. Member of the Filmmakers Union since 1990.
