  • Born: 21.12.1938 in Aiud (Alba)
Graduate of the “I. L. Caragiale” Film and Theater Institute (class of Alexandru Finti, 1959). Her class mates were and are well known actors such as Margareta Pogonat, Ion Dichiseanu, Cornel Revent. Between 1957-1959 she joined the team of the theatre in Botosani, then,  between 1959-1963 , at the request of the huge actor that was Toma Caragiu she works at the theatre in Ploiesti. She was an actress of the Small Theatre in Bucharest(1963) and of the “Radu Stanca” Theatre in Sibiu(1971). Writer Zaharia Stancu, director of the National Theater in Bucharest, sees her on stage in Ploiesti and hires her at his theatre in 1964. She starts her academic career at the institute she graduated from in 1963 at Vera Proca’s  dance chair, then tackles the speech technique at Sandina Stan’s chair, and since 1992 she is a lecturer at the “Hyperion” university at the Acting and Speech Technique chair. She is a honorary member associate of the National Theatre in Bucharest.

Trivia

  • She has  Greek roots on the part of her mother’s family who came to Romania in 1915 and remained in the city of Craiova.
  • In her youth she takes ballet classes with Floria Capsali.
  • Married to Miron Niculescu , then to Emmerich Schäffer.
  • Awarded The Cultural Merit Order ( Officer Degree)
  • Professor at the Stage Movement and Speech Technique Chair at the Hyperion University
  • She has a Star on the Celebrities Alley (March 2016)
