Meeting Liviu Ciulei, who casts her in the The Waves of the Danube, makes her switch from studying at the Faculty of Philology to the Institute of Theatre and Film "I.L.Caragiale”, that she graduates in 1963 (class of professors Ion Șahighian and David Esrig). During all the faculty years she is cast in film after film, thus becoming one of the young stars of the Romanian cinema. Right after graduation, between 1963 and 1966, she is an assistant at the acting classes of professors lon Şahighian, then of lon Cojar. She makes her stage debut only in 1965. At first she plays at the Small Theatre, then she was the actress of the Bulandra Theatre until her final days.
