#UnitedShorts – three shorts films from the Animest collection, delivered weekly at your home

Starting with Friday, May 8 until meeting the audience this year, Animest invites film lovers from all over the world in a virtual journey through the world of the animated short films from the festival history. Skhizein (directed by Jeremy Clapin),
the winner of the Animest Trophy in 2008 is the first short film from the series curated under the #UnitedShorts umbrella, available for free on www.animest.ro. The 15th
edition of the festival will take place from November 9 to 15 in Bucharest.
In the past few years, the open-air film screenings organized during the summer by the biggest animated film festival in Eastern Europe became a tradition. This
year, until the next meeting with the audience, the selection curated by Animest will be presented online. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the organizers will
publish a new short film on the website.
Hundreds of films were already submitted in competition. For the fourth year in a row, the winner of the Animest Trophy will automatically enter the list of the nominated films that the members of the American Film Academy will choose five from. Animest is the first Romanian festival that received this distinction from the American Film Academy. It is also the Ambassador in Romania of the Emile Awards – The European Animated Films Awards.
In the meantime, the submissions to the 15th edition of the Animest Festival continue. Until June 20, the artists from all over the world can submit for free their animated films produced after January 1, 2019, in one of the seven categories: feature film, short film,
international, student film, music video, Romanian short film, Minimest (short films for children) and VR.
