“End of Summer” selected at Montréal IFF


     Vara s-a sfârșit/End of Summer, directed by Radu Potcoavă, will be internationally premiered in Canada on 31 August, within the official competition of the Montréal International Film Festival (25 August-5 September).
     Montréal IFF, reaching its 40th Edition, it is the only competitive festival in North America acknowledged by FIAPF (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films).
     The film's gala screening will be attended by director Radu Potcoavă and leading actors Nicholas Bohor and Dan Hurduc.
     The participation of the crew to the festival is sponsored by the National Filmmaking Centre and by the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York.
     The action is set in a small Danube city, during the summer holiday. Mircea (Nicholas Bohor) agrees to help Alex (Dan Hurduc) to stage his own kidnapping and blackmail an absentee father, not realising the consequences such a game can have.
     The cast also include actors: Ofelia PopiiŞerban Pavlu, Valentin Popescu, Virginia RoginDorian Boguţă, Crina Tofan and Mihai Albu.

     Directed by Radu Potcoavă, after a screenplay by Cristina Bîlea, the film's cinematography was signed by Oleg Mutu, the editing by Cătălin CristuţiuMălina Ionescu signed the scenography, and Svetlana Mihăilescu was the costume designer. The film's original score was composed by Cristian Călin, and integrated in the sound track created by Alex Dragomir.
     End of Summer was produced by Velvet Moraru, through ICON production, with the support of the National Filmmaking Centre and the financial support of Cinema City.
