A Decent Man / Un om la locul lui,
Hadrian Marcu`s directorial feature debut, was selected in the New Directors competition of the San Sebastian Film festival. The film features
Bogdan Dumitrache,
Ada Galeș,
Mădalina Constantin and
Adrian Titieni. The screenplay written by Hadrian Marcuis based on the Romanisn novel “Firesc” written by Petru Cimpoeșu.
The film tells the story of Petru (Bogdan Dumitrache), who is a drilling engineer in a multinational company. Petru is about to get married to his pregnant girlfriend Laura (Ada Galeș). His apparently quiet life totally turns up side down when Sonia (Mădălina Constantin), a colleague with whom he was having an affair, suffers a serious work accident. Petru cannot accept the thought of his life just beginning while Sonia`s seems to come to an end. Taking into consideration the fact that the situation is objectively irremediable, Petru takes the risk of finding an impossible balance
between the two women.
“The film intends to make a portrait; to some extent, we are trying to speak about the limits of self-knowledge and the things that cannot be seen and the things that cannot be told should have us thinking about the limitations that each of us have regarding a certain event, at a specific moment.” the director Hadrian Marcu says.

A Decent Man is produced by 4 Proof Film, in co-production with Oblique Media Film, with the support of the Romanian Film Centre, Dafora, Mindshare Media, Romaqua Group, Star Foods, OMD, in collaboration with the Romanian Television Society.
