Monday night, 13 February, the award-granting gala took place for the participants to the Shooting Stars programme, set up within the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival, to which actor Tudor Aaron Istodor was also selected
“He projects a sensitive naturalism in his acting, often with warm humanity. On the other hand, we sense that the finely tuned Tudor could well go off on an outburst the very next minute. The instinct is there, and he plays it with a keen sense,” the jury motivated the actor's selection to the programme.
Tudor Istodor is playing the leading role in the latest feature by Adrian Sitaru
, which was released on the big screens on 27 January. The role brought him the Best Actor Award at Les Arcs European Film Festival.
Reaching its 20th Edition, Shooting Stars is a programme promoting the best young European actors, taking place every year within the Berlin Festival. Annually, a jury of
experts picks up 10 actors from the long list of nominees by the members of the organisations of the European Film Promotion. The jury of the 2017 anniversary edition was made up of: Dorka Gryllus (actress), Lucinda Syson (casting director), Pandora da Cunha Telles (producer), Xavier Koller (director), Jan Lumholdt (writer/critic).
Among other Romanian actors who took part to previous editions of the programme
, mention should be made of: Cosmina Stratan
(2014), Ada Condeescu
(2013), Ana Ularu
(2012), Dragoș Bucur
(2010), Anamaria Marinca
(2008) and Maria Popistașu
