Film Critics Association 2015 Award for Best Film Journalism

The short film “Everything for Riana”, awarded in Danemarca

On Saturday, the director Mihai Dragolea received The Soapbox award at the Odense International Film Festival for his short film Everything for Riana / Totul pentru Riana
“The festival offers an incredible selection of short films, from films which were included in the Cannes, Berlinale selections to productions which are streamed by
publications such as New York Times, you can find everything in the OFF selection. I was happy to see what my colleagues do – and I`m referring now to the director Anghel Damian who had a film, Celed, in the official selection. I believe it is very important for the festivals to continue their activity during any crisis, because these films allow the profound understanding of the present history and they can generate a change for the better”, the director declared.
The two short films were selected out of a list of 2945 short films and together with other 129 films competed for the awards offered by the festival. The Romanian participation in the festival was supported by ICR Stockholm, with the help of the Embassy of Romania in the Kingdom of Denmark.
Started in 1975, the Odense International Film Festival is the oldest and best-known short film festival in Denmark and one of the most important film festivals in the Scandinavian space; 35,000 viewers attended last year`s edition.
