Usually, every year the May 1 st means the opening of the summer season and it was always crowded with lots of people who wanted to cheerfully mark the beginning of summer. On this occasion, leaving the city in order to come to the

seaside became a special event. In 2020 instead, the May 1 st came with a mute and deserted atmosphere. Obviously, in contrast with the usual days of May 1st , this year, the silence from the seaside was part of the consequences of the extreme quarantine period, in the midst of the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The filmmakers
Claudiu Mitcu,
Ioachim Stroe and
Andrei Butică document in
01.05.2020 the unusual atmosphere of the day of May 1st on the entire Romanian
shoreline. The scenes are accompanied by audio fragments from national and international news programs of the Romanian Television.
The documentary short film is produced by Weaewbasca, in co-production with TVR.
The film was selected to be screened in the PÖFF Shorts - Black Nights Film Festival (Tallinn, Estonia), in the "Made in Corona: Inside Stories" section, which will take place from November 17 to 25, 2020.
