The director Dan Necșulea, celebrated by the Romanian Filmmakers Union

The filmmaker turned 75 on the 2nd of February 2017 and he was celebrated by the Romanian Filmmakers Union and by the Romanian Television, where he has been working for 50 years and where he has started the Film Studio. As a TV producer, Dan Necșulea supported more film directors from more generations, from Dan Pița, Mircea Veroiu and Stere Gulea to Siniša Dragin. He directed many TV films; the most famous are The Winter Night`s Dream / Visul unei nopți de iarnă, starring Rodica Mandache and Florin Piersic and The Tenderness of the Grasshoppers / Tandrețea lăcustelor. Laurențiu Damian, the president of the Filmmakers Union offered the UCIN Trophy to Dan Necșulea and Liana Săndulescu offered him the TVR Honorary Diploma.
More of the filmmaker`s friends took part in the event that took place at the Union Cinematheque: Manuela Cernat, Dan Pița, Călin Căliman, Nicolae Mărgineanu, Radu Corciova, Sorin Ilieșiu, Dana Duma, Lucia Hossu-Longin, RăzvanTheodorescu.
A special screening of the film The Tenderness of the Grasshoppers followed.
