20 short films from all over the world and 10 Romanian short films run for the awards of this year`s edition of NexT. This year, the selection of the films in the International Competition and in the National Competition was made again by Oana Ghera and Massimiliano Nardulli. The programmers chose new voices that honor once again the festival mission at its last edition – and that is to
discover and to bring forth both the short films that are truly innovative and their creators.
This year`s selection of international short films offers an even wider geographical variety compared to the previous years and it crosses the borders of 20 countries, making the journey round the world, from Bulgaria to China, from Estonia to Brazil. The cultural diversity is doubled by the stylistic one as well – like every year, NexT brings fiction and animated short films, playful, creative films, made by filmmakers whose vision surprises and fascinates and that the audience can relate to.
The screenings of the international competition will be split in four programs: on Friday, December 14, 2018 (from 19:00 and from 21:00) and on Sunday, December 16 (from 18:30 and 20:30).
For the 5th year in a row, the latest Romanian short film productions compete in the NexT National Competition. The two programmers chose carefully the 10 short films, split in two programs. They will be screened on Saturday, December 15 (at 18:30 and at 20:30, at the Peasant Museum Cinema). After the two screenings, the viewers will be able to attend the q&a session with the film teams.
