Monsters./
Monștri. will be distributed in the Romanian cinemas by Transilvania Film, starting with September 27.
The film, a Parada Film and Wearebasca production, presents a day, possibly the last day in the life of a couple. Dana (
Judith State) and Arthur (
Cristian Popa) are in front of an important decision. She needs confirmations. He wants company. They`ve shared the same bed for years, but for quite some time they don`t seem to walk the same road. What are the chances of survival of a relationship fuelled by compromises and social pressure? The lack of assuming the responsibility and the lack of communication can ruin marriages, but love doesn`t bring out monsters.
“The actors are superb, right down to the way their bodies seem familiarly in sync with each other even if tehre is no physical attraction between their characters anymore. How sad it is to have such mutual love without being in love; how guilty and helpless you feel when the one person who is most unreservedly supportive of you – of the truth of you – is also the person that truth hurts the most.” the Variety magazine writes.
The film also features the actors
Șerban Pavlu,
Dorina Lazăr and
Alexandru Potocean. The director of photography is
Luchian Ciobanu, the art designer is
Alexandra Alma Ungureanu Stroe, the editing is signed by
Ioachim Stroe and the sound design is signed by Ioan Filip and
Dan Ștefan Rucăreanu.
