The film tells the story of Doru, a lumberjack widowed for a week. Doru knows that he has to take Meda back to the orphanage, the girl he has had in foster care for eight years. He must get money in order to be able to keep Meda with him and to submit himself the foster care file. But he lives in an isolated place, where only lumbering and cow trading can bring legal money. So, after Doru tried everything humanly possible, he is forced to accept to take part to a poaching action.
