The collective book launch of the volume “The Reality of Fiction. The Fiction of the Real. Theoretical Approaches of the documentary” takes place on Friday, November 16, 2018, at 18:30, at the Gaudeamus International Book Fair (Romexpo). The event will take place at the stand of the Tracus Arte Publishing House.
The anthology includes six theoretical articles that approach documentaries in different contexts and national industries, as well as three interviews with Romanian directors - –
Monica Lazurean Gorgan,
Radu Jude and
Alexandru Solomon. Iulia Popovici writes about the illusion of the authentic in the theatre and the documentary film,
Irina Trocan about the inheritance of the editing films,
Andra Petrescu about the non-fictional film of the `50s in the context of opening the “Alex Sahia” Studio, Georgiana Muşat about Peter Watkins` films, Andreea Mihalcea makes an introduction in the interactive documentary and Alex Mircioi follows the ascension of the American reality TV production from the perspective of two popular series – “An American Family” (1971) and “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” (2007).
The event will be attended by Irina Trocan, Andra Petrescu, Alex Mircioi, Georgiana Mușat. “The Reality of Fiction. The Fiction of the Real. Theoretical Approaches of the documentary” is an editorial project coordinated by the Cinefocus Association in partnership with the Hecate Publishing House, co-financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund.
