Call for entries at the 3rd Edition of the PUSTNIK residency

The third edition of the PUSTNIK scriptwriting residency, the first programme of this kind in Romania designed for young European screenwriters and directors, will be held from 2 to 10 September, at Portul Cultural Cetate.
For 9 days, 8 filmmakers (3 from Romania and 5 from abroad) will develop their feature film projects, to be presented at the end of the residency to the invited producers within the pitch sessions.
Directors and scriptwriters aged between 18 and 35 may register with their projects in various stages of development (synopsis, exposé, treatment or first draft). They must have previously written the script for at least a short presented at an international film festival, and the project making the object of their application to the residency must represent their feature film debut.
Registration may be made online at www.pustnik.com, until 18 June 2017.
The residency selectors are Andreea Borțun (scriptwriter and director, Romania), Bryn Chainey (scriptwriter and director, UK/Australia), co-founders of the PUSTNIK Programme, and Lavinia Cioacă (film critic, Romania).
During the first 5 days, the residents will develop the stories they applied for with, and at the end of the programme they will receive feedback and will present their project to producers from their origin countries. The 8 filmmakers will also take part to a masterclass delivered by a director of the New Romanian Wave, and to a workshop having a foreign guest who is to talk about the creative involvement of the producer in the script development process.
Last year's edition was attended by Giacomo Abbruzzese (Italy), Tudor Botezatu (Romania), Anton Breum (Denmark), Anca Buja (Romania), Jacqueline Lentzou (Greece), Emily Marcuson (UK), Andrei Răuțu (Romania) and Pilar Palomero (Spain).
Among these, Tudor Botezatu received funding from the CNC for the development of his project The Mind Patrol, Jacqueline Lentzou was selected with her project Selini66 to Torino Film Lab, one of the most important film workshops in Europe and is currently working with the Romanian scriptwriter Răzvan Rădulescu, Anton Breum is in the development stage with After the Attack, which is to be produced by the Danish company Meta Film, and Emily Marcuson is working together with a director and a producer to the project Stevenson Street.
PUSTNIK Residency is a cultural project organised by TETA Association, co-financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund and by the National Filmmaking Centre.
