The Secvenţe Association invites Romanian producers and filmmakers to submit their short films to the Romanian Short Waves 10 program preselection. The program will be presented on 22-28 May 2017 in the Short Film Corner section of the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The companies with a history in short film production and that have gained recognition in major festivals may submit a film that will be selected automatically. Student films and those submitted by newly founded production companies will be selected by a jury formed by Romanian film industry professionals. Romanian Short Waves also welcomes short documentaries.
Those who are interested have to send their films by March 28, 2017 on a DVD format along with the Romanian Short Waves registration form at the following address: National Film Center (FAO Mrs. Alina Sălcudeanu), Dem. I. Dobrescu Street, no. 4-6, Sector 1, Bucharest 010026. The films can also be sent as a vimeo link or via webtransfer to the association’s e-mail address asoc.secvente@gmail.com.
The films must meet the following eligibility conditions for the preselection: short fiction films must not exceed 20 minutes in length (one short film per director), the documentaries must not exceed 24 minutes in length, they must have been produced after January 1st 2016 and they must have English or French subtitles.
The selected short films will be announced on the April 3, 2017.
The authors will have to supply, until the 3rd of April, an uploaded version of the film that does not exceed 3 GB, meeting the specifications of the organizers.
Launched in 2004, the Short Film Corner section offers Romanian producers and director the opportunity to present their films to festival programmers, agents and movie buyers from the international film industry. Short Film Corners is conceived as a short film market and the participation does not equal a selection to the competition sections of the Cannes Film Festival.
