The Gopo Awards Gala, scheduled for March 24, 2020 was postponed. You can find below the message sent by the organizers:
“The Gopo Awards Gala, an event organized by the Romanian Film Promotion Association together with the Urban Film and Cultural Association will be postponed. In the context of the prevention measures and restrictions required by the evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic, the interest for the safety and health of the participants – guests from the industry, partners, sponsors and the press – and of the teams involved based this decision.
Scheduled for March 24, at the “I.L.Caragiale” National Theatre in Bucharest, the gala honoring the Romanian film productions released last year, involve special financial and logistic efforts. It is supported by the Romanian Film Centre, the Bucharest National Theatre and Babel Communications, alongside important sponsors and partners. We deeply thank them for their support in organizing this event and the future ones, especially in the near future.
We`ll return with more details as soon we settle the new date of the event.
The voting process involving more than 600 specialists of the film industry will continue and the deadline will be communicated later, together with our PwC partners.
Right this moment, the film industry faces a major impact in the entire world, alongside all the creative industries and many more. We stand by all the independent associations and the cultural institutions in Romania in this crisis; our common objectives and interest are the participants` safety, caring for the other person and perpetuating a responsible behavior.”
